Would You Spend $291 A Month On ONE Product?

Ha! I just made the biggest purchase on an internet marketing product so far (not counting seminars). Like the title says above, this new baby I bought costs US$291 a month, every month, until I choose not to continue subscribing to it.

That makes S$450 a month. Even though in the scheme of all things, $450 is not a staggering amount. It is still a sizeable amount of dough to splash and if you’re careful with what you’re (or I’m) doing, it’s gonna burn a nice hole in my wallet.

So what spanking new thing did I buy?

It’s a software product by John Jonas – Under Cover Profits. Basically what it does is that it searches Google Adwords, based on the keywords you plug in, to find profitable affiliate ad campaigns that other people are running. The idea is if someone is advertising for an affiliate product on Google Adwords for many days straight, that ad is probably a profitable one. And all you have to do is copy and paste your way to affiliate success.

At least, that what it says in theory, I’m gonna spend the next few months testing it in real life to see how it works. If it’s a winner, I’ll be delighted. If not, oh well.. I’ll just can my subscription. I’ll let you know in time to come.

I don’t normally spend $291 a month on stuff, let alone this being for just one product. Other than my domains (cheap..), hosting and my autoresponder, my internet expenses are really low. I usually buy an ebook or product here and there, but all of that is one time. And if I don’t buy them, my expenses only work to around US$40-50 a month. So really low cost.

Anyway, since we’re on the topic, let’s talk about business expenses.

A lot of people who start out online are reluctant to spend on things that are needed for a successful Internet marketing business (from my experience, anyway). And I understand where they’re coming from, because it can be difficult to commit and spend money on a project when you’ve not made a single cent online yet.

I was exactly like that too when I started out. I was soooo reluctant to spend $179 on an autoresponder back then. I was going – “What! I have to blow almost S$300 on something that I don’t know how to use and when I haven’t made a single cent online?!” But I did buy the thing and now my autoresponder is the most important tool I have right now. I can’t live without it.

I guess most people who start out online have this wait and see attitude. They’re not really sure if this whole internet marketing thing is really profitable and they just want to ‘test the waters’ to see if it really works. Most people start out like that, and that’s why most people fail.

I mean it’s OK to have that attitude at the beginning, a healthy dose of skeptism is good for you. But when you start reading about success stories of other people, and you start seeing a dollar today from adsense, or your first $5 affiliate sale from Clickbank, all of that is proof that you can make money on the internet.

From there, it’s all a matter of refining the process, so that instead of a dollar a day from adsense, it becomes $10. Instead of a $5 affiliate commission, aim for $50. The process works, all you need to do is to multiply and magnify it to see bigger money coming in.

A good example of magnifying the process is to drive more traffic. If you’re making $1/day from adsense with 50 visitors a day, multiply that to 500 a day. And all things being equal, your income will magnify too.

So when you see all the evidence that making money online is possible (I’m one example, I only started 10 months ago), ditch the ‘wait and see’ attitude and go full steam to make things happen. Now when I say that, I don’t mean go blow your money on every damn product out there but instead apply yourself, continue to learn and focus on your internet business to ensure it becomes a success.

Most times most people just whine about why they can’t seem to make money. That’s nice, but whining won’t bring you results. Do it for 5 minutes if that makes you feel better, but don’t whine forever and expect things to magically happen. Most time when people can’t make money online, it’s because of a lack of action or a lack of education.

Ask a whiner what he did to drive traffic to his site and he’ll say – “Oh! I submitted 10 articles!” That’s great… now do you expect to start making $5,000 a month just by submitting 10 articles? Get real. It takes a lot more work and effort than that. Action, action, action!

If you’re not making, ask yourself what ACTIONS have you taken in the past 7 days? If you’ve done close to nothing, then you know what needs to be changed. If you have been taking lots of action and you haven’t seen results, then maybe the action isn’t the right one to take.

For example, if you spent 5 hours a day submitting your site to all the link farms out there, do you think it’s gonna work? Lots of action but wrong strategy. Change it.

Which brings me to another point – EDUCATION.

Lots of people out there want to make money online but they won’t invest in their education. How the hell are you going to make money online when you can’t even bear to fork out $197 for a product that will help you!? Like I said before, get real.

Do you think someone can become a doctor without going through med school (and paying for it)?

Invest in your education, but good products from REPUTABLE marketers who have bulit a solid business around providing real value to customers. Learn how to do it the right way and don’t scrimp on educating and expanding your mind. People are making money online, there are blue-chip internet companies making millions, and the number of people getting plugged in is growing everyday.

It’s the real deal.

In fact, if YOU bought something online before just once in your life, that’s proof that making money on the internet is real. Because your money just made someone else, somewhere else, some money online.
