Do You Know Your Own Visitor Value?
We all know two things make your success on the Internet. Traffic x Conversions = $$$
It really IS as simple as that. If you can do that consistently, you’re making money. Focusing about your PageRank, no. of links you have, or even your Alexa rank, blah blah blah, etc is not going to make you money!
Sure having high PR, great many links, etc is always good to have rather than not. But if you’re not converting your traffic into paying customers, then well… that sucks.
I mentioned before that if I were to choose between higher traffic or higher conversions, I’d always go for the killer conversion rate.
Why?
Because when your product is converting well, hoards of affiliates will automatically want to promote your product for you. Traffic problems no more!
Don’t believe me?
Have a look at the top products an Clickbank’s marketplace, they’re there for a reason. And the reason is this: they’re making money for the people who promote them. And that’s why they continue to promote them.
And why do these products make so much money for their affiliates?
Because they know if they send an X amount of visitors, they’re going to get X amount of sales. For example, if a website converts at 3% for a $100 product, you’d know that every 100 visitors that land on the site will net 3 sales ($300).
So the Average Visitor Value of this site is $300/100 = $3.00 - which basically means each visitor is worth an average 3 bucks. So if someone’s spending a dollar for a PPC ad to send traffic there, he’d be rolling in the riches.
And if the average visitor value is not worth the affiliate’s effort, they send the product down the bin and go look for a superior product. The smart affiliates are not stupid. They know what’s working and what doesn’t. They know which product to promote that will give them the most profit.
So if you’re lost now, back to the point - if you have a killer conversion (or more specifically a killer Average Visitor Value), your traffic will be taken care of, and you’ll be making good profit.
Ok this is nothing new really… You’d probably know about all this already (i.e you read it before somewhere). BUT do you know your own Average Visitor Value?
Because if you read about it before but still don’t know your own metrics, then let me tell you something. You learnt something and you didn’t APPLY it. What’s the use in having the knowledge then!?
But you know what?
I’m guilty of that same mistake too. I just slapped on my sites, I was making sales, and I didn’t measure how well/poor I was doing. If I don’t know where I am, just how am I going to know whether I’ve improved? You can’t.
I share this with you because I made these mistakes, and I’d rather you don’t make them.
I’m learning along with you on the Internet.

Totally agreed with you. Went to stephen’s seminar, and he sums up internet marketing in a very simple way, “Traffic , traffic, and traffic. Increase mailing list, convert sales.”
