Where’s My Refund?!
Ha! I have a gripe to rant about today.
I bought a $27 ebook with master resell rights from a marketer that I shall call as LB (for now!). The reason why I bought it was because the topic interest me and if it was really top quality, the master resell rights would have really come in handy. So I bought the thing and paid the 27 bucks using my paypal account. Plus there was a 30 day money-back guarantee on the salespage.
So what the heck.. right?
I downloaded the ebook and I went through it. Sad to say, the quality was missing in the product (even with my lowered expectations of a $27 product). I mean, don’t get me wrong, the information inside could have really helped someone else (maybe a newbie) but it didn’t really work for me.
So I emailed LB to tell him that I wanted a refund like he mentioned on his salespage. Took him a couple of days to reply and he told me that he would process the refund in a couple of days once Clickbank was back online.
Huh?
First of all, I paid for the product using Paypal and not through Clickbank. I even went through my receipts to make sure that it was a paypal transaction, and yes it was.
Second, what do you mean Clickbank is down?! Has that ever happened before? (maybe… but I sure can’t remember!). So just to be doubly sure, I went over to Clickbank and checked if I was to login to my account; I could.
I went over to my products sites to see if my Clickbank payment links were working fine; they were. Clickbank was all fine and dandy to me!
But even then, why do you need Clickbank to be ‘up’ to do a refund, you don’t! All you do is just forward the particular invoice back Clickbank’s refunds department and they’ll simply handle the whole thing.
So quite obviously I was a little confused by LB’s reply. So I just emailed him back to clarify that payment was made through Paypal and not Clickbank and I reminded him of the 30 day money back he put up and indicated that I would like my refund to be processed soon. All very, very cordial.
And you know what?
No bloody reply from the fella and it’s been weeks. I could email him again, begging for my $27 but I thought I just had a bit more fun with this experience. I thought I share my experience with the world instead! muahahahahaha!
And also I decided NEVER to buy any of his products again, that dumb ass just lost a customer for life! You know, it’s nothing personal, I’m sure he’s a really nice guy and I respect his success online, and maybe he just really forgot to handle my refund (and it’s all a misunderstanding), but this whole thing just leaves a bad taste in the mouth and I just won’t do business with him again. That’s all.
Always honour your refunds. I’ve honoured every refund request I’ve received, because come on… we’re not really losing any money are we? Our products are digital, there’s no shipping cost, and I don’t even really have to fork out a single cent for a refund. I’d much rather have a happy customer on my hands anytime than to have money from someone who wasn’t satisfied.
So if any of you wanna know who LB is, just let me know and I’ll tell you (in private) muahahahhahaa!

Hi adam,
I would really love to know who he is… I prefer to learn from your experience rather than me going through it.
Damn… who is this guy, Adam?
Damn… who is this guy, Adam?
I have a story to share about internet-based auctions. These days, you can buy just about anything via the intenet. It makes sense to think a bit and “read between the lines” before you pay out. Refunds can be tricky issues.
In my case, a friend of mine was looking into buying precious jewelry from an on-line auction based abroad. Luckily, this person read the fine print before he went ahead with the purchase.
As it happened, jewelry valuation certificates weren’t standard and thus questionable. In-house valuation “wasn’t available” to international buyers (though no explanation why). The company’s outlined shipping time could take up to two weeks and buyers anywhere only had 2 weeks to request a refund on merchandise. These issues were enough to raise eyebrows.
Its also worthwhile to see if anyone has posted complaints about particular auctions on the internet that might make credibility suspicious. Unsatisfied customers who share stories may be worth listening to. When buying anything, I would encourage you to look into your options.
All the best,
Liara Covert

Hey Adam,
I think paypal offers 60 day money back where you can get your money back. I have not tried it but it is under resolution center.
You should publish the name of that person. And: try to notify paypal about it and request a refund from them. Paypal is not to good to deal with, but if you are persistent, and become a pain, they will eventually refund you.
Please tell me about this LB guy.
Thanks!
Hi,
Would appreciate if you advise the name of this fellow? Thanks for sharing…
Yo PD,
Who’s this guy? Interested to know….
I wanna know the person, coz I bought lots of ebooks and softwares online…
Dont want to fall for this…email me…thanks
I think it is Louis Burleson. That guy screwed me over before. He sold MRR for 15 bucks which can be found on eBay at 99 cents. I swear to God I would never buy from that f*cker.
If you’re facing this issue, head to paypal and file a dispute.
Paypal usually resolves in the buyer’s favor especially if you send them supporting proof.
Oh who is this guy?
Goodness!
Thomas
Andrew, PayPal does NOT refund digital products.
