Ask Your List What They Want!

Omigod! This is such plain “common” sense, but then I never did this till now.

The best way to create a great relationship with your list is to simply give them what they want. That’s what good marketing is all about, isn’t it? Giving people what they want. Period.

And how do you find out what people want?

ASK.

Duh… I feel dumb now.

Anyway, after I got hit with this “new idea”, I went ahead to test it out and see what would happen. So the first thing I needed to do was to decide… what the heck do I want to ask my list.

Oh! Now I gotta figure what to ask. Man…

And then I realized that I had a whole bunch of pretty decent PLR products that have been sitting around in my computer for the longest time and I just never got around to promoting them to my list (lazy SOB!). And then I remembered receiving an email from Paul Myers (love his newsletter!) asking his list about what they would want to buy from him.

So being the ‘genius’ that I am, I just copied the whole concept. (Ha! Thinking’s for the dummys…)

I gathered a list of the PLR products that I had and added some other niches that I thought might interest my list as well and I created the survey from there. The whole survey’s really, really simple; it only has ONE question and you can only pick one choice. So that part’s pretty much straightforward.

Have a look at the survey I did up –> www.shortsimplesurvey.com

Once I set up the survey, I sent a mailing to the list about a couple weeks back and asked them nicely if they could do a favor and tell us what they want.

And so they did.

I was actually worried that people would ignore the whole thing and I won’t get the response I wanted, but I was wrong and I realize that if you just ask people, people will respond.

So anyway, if you went to have a look at the survey, you’d notice I had a bunch of choices which someone could choose. And so far, these are the results:

The No.1 choice that my list picked was – How to Make Money Online – How To Earn A Full-Time Income Working At Home From Your Computer. (lazy SOBs!)

No.2 – 5 Minutes to a Millionaire Mind – 50 Things The Most Successful Business People Have In Common – And How You Can Begin To Emulate Them In Just 5 Minutes.

and No.3 – Patterns Of Excellence – How to get the results you want in life with the power of neuro-linguistic programming.

Hmmm… people always love money, don’t they? (I’m pretty happy that Patterns Of Excellence came 3rd – it shows that the list is pretty well-informed about what NLP is all about.)

And so armed with this information, I decided to act on it…

And I’ll share that with you in an upcoming post!

;-)
