Buying My First Stock

I actually had my first formal introduction to investing back in Oct 2005 when I attended Adam Khoo’s Wealth Academy. I grasped the concepts and all the financial mumbo jumbo pretty well, and got pretty excited about getting started.

Which I didn’t…

I had the knowledge, all the information, support, and resources BUT I just never got round to doing it. It was like one of those things where you go, “Yes I know I need to lose weight…” but knowing isn’t good enough is it?

So finally after TWO years of procrastinating, I finally bought my very first stock.

And the very first stock I bought was this:

Berkshire Hathaway

Ok it’s a little hard to see, but the first stock I bought was Berkshire Hathaway. A tribute to Warren Buffett and his billions. Obviously I bought the Class B share because the Class A one was trading at over US$137,000 at the time. (kill me…)

Anyway, I always wanted to know why people don’t just buy this stock and hold on to it long term. I mean Buffett is the greatest investor of all time and his record is a annual compounded 25% return on average. Beats any stupid mutual fund out there. Let the guru of gurus manage your money for you, especially if you’re not investing savvy.

So I did ask Adam Khoo about this, we checked BRK’s performance over the last 3 years and it went up 67% (which is way good) and so he said, “Ok lah! Just buy his stock. You coward…”

haha! The guy’s way funny.

Anyway, I actually made the purchase about a month ago and I just sharing it with you now. So what does this have to do with Internet marketing?

Well… I’m still technically making money online.
