The 7 Deadly Sins Of Business Websites

7 Deadly Sins Of Business WebsitesI just finished writing this new report - The 7 Deadly Sins Of Business Websites.

As you can tell from the title, this report is about the most common mistakes that business websites make that cost them to lose money. I’ve pin-pointed these mistakes and put them all down in this report so business owners out there have a very clear idea why their websites SUCK (ha! sorry for being blunt).

But it’s true. Most business owners out there have no idea how to create or plan a business website that will create RESULTS for their company. As you may know, most business websites out there are just fancy, over-the-top websites that just look pretty but don’t add to the bottom-line.

Anyway, if you’re a business owner (or someone who just wants to know) and you’re interested in downloading and reading this report, then simply let me know and I’ll send you a copy asap.

The report’s not meant to be ‘LIVE’ yet but I want to pass it around now among my blog readers so I can have feedback about what you think about it. Call it a beta launch if you will.

So if you want a copy, email me at adam[at]adam-wong.com and my evil twin will personally send you the download link. The only thing I ask for in return is that you let me know your FEEDBACK.

If you have great things to say about, please let me know and I’ll be posting it up as a testimonial. If you think it’s nothing great, then let me know as well. If you could do this small favor for me, it’ll be really awesome.

So email me if you want a copy - adam[at]adam-wong.com.

Just read it, short & sweet, great for offline businesses who want to get online but are totally clueless. Also a good reminder to online marketers.

Mistake 1 is so important yet so many people miss it out even when they have been online for awhile.

Mistake 2 & 3 are usually made by web design geeks who know nothing about direct response marketing.

Mistake 4 & 5 also shows a lack of understanding in the topic of direct marketing.

Mistake 6 & 7 are just plain silly.

    That’s fast! Thanks!

I’m silly or the people committing mistake 6 & 7 are silly? haha!

The people committing the mistakes are silly & the author is making them look silly by writing this ebook! Haha.

    Hey Adam,

i just look through your report. The thing that i like most about the report is the way you communicate it with us. Only Adam Wong talks like this and this is your uniqueness. ha

Thanks for the report and it was a nice quick read. Not too draggy and straight to the point. Adding some entertainment value at the same time.

    Regards,

    Hello Adam!

Really apologies for the delay! I was feeling extremely low on energetic for the past few days and I was forced to sleep real early. I didn’t mean to delay commenting on your latest work!

I’ve just finished reading it just now and here are some of my feedbacks:

    Overall Content:
    1. I must agree that you’ve packed a great deal of information in a 16 page report! Indeed, it’s an eye opener for most businesses having a presence on the Web!

    Lifeblood Of Web Business:
    2. In my humble opinion, putting a site online is so easy. But driving traffic and enticing visitors to interact with you, or to take a specific actions you intended is far more harder. This in my opinion is the hallmarks of any successful website.

    Testing & Tracking:
    3. You seemed to have missed out testing and tracking in the marketing equation. I’ve learn what works by testing various ideas and writings on my own blog, but I’m not out to make money yet. I prefer to focus on delivering valuable content and sharpening my writing (communication) skills.

    Navigations & Interactions:
    4. Some ideas may look nice put on the site (like flash interaction you mentioned), but it’s a lot harder to use and test in direct response sense. I like Ajax better, compared to Flash. Ajax is a lot lighter weight and it provides some sort of perceived loading speed - a big plus for building interaction with web visitors.

    Cheap Shared Hosting Servers vs
    Dedicated Servers:
    5. I’ve a lot of headache recently since migrating from my previous web host.

I used BlueHost’s Platinum Pak services for about 2 years and I had some real resource limitations which cannot be resolved unless I throw in caching modules. I bit the bullet in April 2008 and moved forward.

You mentioned business websites should not be hosted on cheap hosting and I must agree hands down from my own experiences!

I did a quick check on your domain adam-wong.com and intellectivemarketing.com and you seem to be using BlueHost for both. I trust that you are likely to be using some dedicated services from BlueHost instead of the cheaper plans like the one I had previously!

Anyway, I’ll be moving my blog to MediaTemple soon, having experimented with Namecheap’s Pro hosting services. Namecheap offers real excellent customer service so far (technical supports respond within 10 minutes after I submit my ticket!), but I have encountered a number of configuration issues… only to resolve after a few correspondences by email.

    Business Blogs:
    6. Do you like to create a similar report for business blogs as well?

I’ve recently covered one such article that seemed to have caught a deal of attractions lately.

    That’s it!

I’ve only got so much off my head to share after reading your report. I’ll probably pop over again if I can come up with something that I’ve missed, or anything interesting to share.

Not to forget… a big thanks for sharing your valuable experiences! I look forward to learn from you again soon! :)

    Regards,
    Wai Loong
