I know I haven’t been updating this blog in a looooooooooooong while. Reason being I just decided to take a break and just not blog anymore. I figured that I needed a sabbatical.

You know, like these multi-million dollar bestselling authors who’ve made too much money and then decide to just not to do anything for year. I thought ‘Heck! Why don’t I have my little own sabbatical now? And I don’t have to wait till I make a million bucks to do that!’

So I just stopped. Plus I didn’t really have anything really interesting to write. Unless I scribe about my private life, which is not my thing anyway (although I have done so previously).

Honestly, for the last few months things ONLINE have been pretty much the same. Not same as in I’ve been going nowhere, but the stuff that I do is more or less the same, and I just strive to keep on getting better at it.

You see making money online is not rocket science. It’s all about taking these steps, doing them right, and then doing it ALL OVER AGAIN. Which is basically what I’ve been doing the last few months.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

So I’ve relaunched Secrets Of Self-Made Millionaires (the e-book), Secrets Of Millionaire Investors, I added OTOs to all my product lines, I make sure I capture names and emails on my sites and give them valued content in return, I drive traffic, and I market to my lists.

It’s the same old, same old and it’s doing pretty well. I personally don’t think I’m making really BIG money yet, so that’s my next challenge now. From going to making 4-5 figures a month to making 5 figures a month consistently. I did that in December 2007, as you can see in my previous post, so that’s the next stage in my growth.

I haven’t really decided if I want to return to blogging regularly again, it’s something I have to explore and see if it fits in with my goals, so we’ll see.

In the meantime, if you’re new here and you don’t know much about me, you can have a look at the previous blog posts and read all about my story.

The gist is I started this blog because I registered my name domain (adam-wong.com) and I thought it’d be nice if I could share my journey with Internet marketing with readers out there.

So this blog chronicles (so far) how I started way back in June 2006 all the way to now, and culminating in making US$22k+ in December last year. So from ZERO to hitting US$22k/month in one and a half years. Decent, I guess.

So if you’re interested to read about how it all happened, you can just start from here, and move your way up.

Ha! I have a gripe to rant about today.

I bought a $27 ebook with master resell rights from a marketer that I shall call as LB (for now!). The reason why I bought it was because the topic interest me and if it was really top quality, the master resell rights would have really come in handy. So I bought the thing and paid the 27 bucks using my paypal account. Plus there was a 30 day money-back guarantee on the salespage.

So what the heck.. right?

I downloaded the ebook and I went through it. Sad to say, the quality was missing in the product (even with my lowered expectations of a $27 product). I mean, don’t get me wrong, the information inside could have really helped someone else (maybe a newbie) but it didn’t really work for me.

So I emailed LB to tell him that I wanted a refund like he mentioned on his salespage. Took him a couple of days to reply and he told me that he would process the refund in a couple of days once Clickbank was back online.

Huh?

First of all, I paid for the product using Paypal and not through Clickbank. I even went through my receipts to make sure that it was a paypal transaction, and yes it was.

Second, what do you mean Clickbank is down?! Has that ever happened before? (maybe… but I sure can’t remember!). So just to be doubly sure, I went over to Clickbank and checked if I was to login to my account; I could.

I went over to my products sites to see if my Clickbank payment links were working fine; they were. Clickbank was all fine and dandy to me!

But even then, why do you need Clickbank to be ‘up’ to do a refund, you don’t! All you do is just forward the particular invoice back Clickbank’s refunds department and they’ll simply handle the whole thing.

So quite obviously I was a little confused by LB’s reply. So I just emailed him back to clarify that payment was made through Paypal and not Clickbank and I reminded him of the 30 day money back he put up and indicated that I would like my refund to be processed soon. All very, very cordial.

And you know what?

No bloody reply from the fella and it’s been weeks. I could email him again, begging for my $27 but I thought I just had a bit more fun with this experience. I thought I share my experience with the world instead! muahahahahaha!

And also I decided NEVER to buy any of his products again, that dumb ass just lost a customer for life! You know, it’s nothing personal, I’m sure he’s a really nice guy and I respect his success online, and maybe he just really forgot to handle my refund (and it’s all a misunderstanding), but this whole thing just leaves a bad taste in the mouth and I just won’t do business with him again. That’s all.

Always honour your refunds. I’ve honoured every refund request I’ve received, because come on… we’re not really losing any money are we? Our products are digital, there’s no shipping cost, and I don’t even really have to fork out a single cent for a refund. I’d much rather have a happy customer on my hands anytime than to have money from someone who wasn’t satisfied.

So if any of you wanna know who LB is, just let me know and I’ll tell you (in private) muahahahhahaa!

In the end, after all the tinkering, they both suggested I just reinstall my blog template and it worked perfectly. And it like what… took 5 minutes to get this sorted out? Sheesh… I feel almost like an average person now for not figuring this out sooner.

Anyway, thanks to the both of you. I really REALLY appreciate the help and the goodwill, it means alot to me.

Ok first off, I know it’s been really loooong since I posted something, so let me me apologise if you’ve been eagerly checking my blog every 37 minutes over the last week to see if I wrote something new.

I just didn’t have the “feeling” to want to write, and if I don’t feel in the mood or I don’t something interesting to share, I’d rather not write. Personal choice, that’s all…

Anyway, I do some times login to my wordpress to check for comments, and this time I noticed new people linking to me, one of which is Julianto.

Why do I mention him?

Because he said some very nice things about me and I just like to thank him for his kind words. You can read about what he wrote about me on his blog, it’s a short post: Adam Wong

And one more post here: Adam Wong again

If you read the 2nd post, I’m placed along side luminaries like my mentor (Mr Khoo), Ewen Chia, Stuart Tan, and Merry Riani. To have just one person think I’m up there with these big boys (and girl) is very flattering.

I’m just a kid (ok…. I’m 24) who just happend to make good with making money online with a bit of luck, timing, and of course some good old hard work.

I sincerely believe anyone can succeed at this, it’s just all about FOCUSING on getting the right things done one at a time. Too many times, we just put too much on our plates and we just get stuck. Don’t do that!

Focus on one project. Make that work. When it’s good enough to run by itself with minor maintenance from you, move on to the next project. And if your current project seems like a loser? Then just dump it, cut your loses, and move on. (BUT only after you’ve done your due diligence)

see you around…

Ha! I’m really sorry I haven’t been blogging much the past many days. I’ve been a bit busy over the period and I wasn’t really in the mood to blog. And my belief is that if I’m not in the mood, I shouldn’t really have to force myself to do things.

But I balance that, of course, with some common sense. Or else I’ll just end up bumming my whole life. If there’re things I need to get done, I get them done. And somehow I make myself get ‘in the mood’ to get things done.

Hope it makes sense anyway….

Ok, just some updates for you:

Adam Khoo is launching his new book ‘Secrets Of Millionaire Investors’ 15 May instead of late April as originally planned. It will be launched in bookstores in Singapore. For the rest of the world, I guess you’d have to wait for the digital version.

Adam also has a pre-launch thingy happening right now where you can pre-order an autographed copy of the book at a discounted price. So if you’re interested and you don’t know about it yet, visit his blog.

Only 188 copies available for that, so hurry if you must.

Next! I’m playing around with Google Analytics at the moment and I must say it’s a super super piece of software. It practically tracks every damn thing that needs to be tracked on your website (visits, pageviews, conversions, geo targeting, PPC ROI, etc, etc, etc. LOTS of stuff).

At the moment, I’m familiarising myself with the data and what it means. Really powerful stuff and all you need to do is to stick a piece of code onto your webpage. And you know what the best part is? It’s FREE!

Well technically free. You need an Adwords account first and that costs $10. So anyway, I highly recommend it.

And lastly, I’ll be off to the Gold Coast Australia for the next 2 weeks for a seminar and a short holiday, so ummmm… well… just letting you know. That’s all.

Ok that’s it for tonight. I’ll in touch even when I’m in Oz. So maybe I’ll blog a bit when I’m there.

tata…

Ha! I actually forgot to blog yesterday (Monday). I was so engrossed about my current predicament of not having played a single video game for the last 3 weeks (I’m dying…) that when my mates came over last night to have a round of gaming, I got so caught with playing that I forgot that the rest of the world actually matters.

Anyway, Monday’s past and here’s my ramble for today.

I just received my Citibank card which probably means my application was accepted and I now get to do business with one of the biggest banks in the world. The reason why I got a Citi account was because I learnt that they could bank and accept USD cheques a lot faster than local banks.

When I started out, I was using DBS to clear all my USD cheques and it’s a pain….!

Why?

Because the whole process is just silly to start off with. First, Clickbank sends me a cheque all the way to Singapore from the US. I receive, drop it with DBS and then they send all the way back to the US to clear the cheque. Think of all the additional fuel I’m wasting because they had to ship one extra piece of paper – back and forth!

After the cheque’s cleared, the US bank then remits the money back to DBS who then places it into my account. In all the process takes around 3-4 weeks to complete. And that’s not even counting the amount of time Clickbank takes to send me my cheques.

Oh yes, and DBS charges me around S$22 a pop to have a US cheque cleared. Which is actually reasonable after I did some checking.

So you know, I could actually be suffering a real cashflow problem like this (I don’t), I actually have to wait more than a month for my internet profits to be sitting pretty in my bank account. That’s sucky…

Anyway, I learnt from my friend Andrew Wee (link to show my gratitude. hah!) that he clears USD cheques in 2-3 days using Citi and it only costs him $5 a pop to do it. When I heard that, I was going – “damn! I’m being scalped by DBS!”

So I went ahead to open a Citi account with help dear Andrew and I now look forward to have my cheques cleared in double-quick time, so I can blow it on a good japanese meal immediately!

Ok before you go all excited, I just want to have a disclaimer put in here. Please don’t go around yelling around that Citi is doing what I mentioned above. There are terms and conditions involved and so please check with a bank representative for full details. I’m not one.

Anyway, thank you Andrew and I appreciate the help.

Out.
