Buying My First Stock

I actually had my first formal introduction to investing back in Oct 2005 when I attended Adam Khoo’s Wealth Academy. I grasped the concepts and all the financial mumbo jumbo pretty well, and got pretty excited about getting started.

Which I didn’t…

I had the knowledge, all the information, support, and resources BUT I just never got round to doing it. It was like one of those things where you go, “Yes I know I need to lose weight…” but knowing isn’t good enough is it?

So finally after TWO years of procrastinating, I finally bought my very first stock.

Over-Eager Salespeople

I was out shopping for a ceiling fan for my new room last week (yes, I’m shifting…) and I walked into one fan shop along Jalan Besar to browse around.

Immediately when I entered the shop, this really frenetic sales guy came up to me and asked what I was looking for. And so I told him I was looking for a ceiling fan. The moment I finished my sentence, this joker instantly started pointing this fan that was mounted on his shop and told me I could get that fan.

It was certified, reliable, long-lasting, blah blah blah, he kept on telling me how great that fan was and he kept on going on and on and on about why I should that fan of his. Man, he could talk!

And so I just stood there half-trying to understand what he was saying (he was speaking in mandarin… and I’m not very smart there) and half-trying not to look pissed/amused/bewildered all at the same time.

Adding Kontera To Your Blog

If you’ve noticed on me blog, I’ve added Kontera advertising to its pages.

Ever since Google allowed people to have Kontera ads alongside Adsense, many webmasters have decided to add another revenue stream onto their websites.

Obviously, it doesn’t mean that just adding Kontera would see you making more money, it’s a little more complicated than that.

You’d have to test and measure if adding a new nifty thing actually increases or decreases your overall revenue. For example, some marketers who were making good income with Adsense on their websites made EVEN more when they removed it.

Because without the Adsense ads they discovered that more of their visitors ended clicking on their affiliate links instead, which gave them a higher ROI. So you really have to test and measure.

Anyway, if you’re looking to add Kontera to your wordpress blog, it’s really easy to do. You can visit Kontera wordpress plugin page and follow the steps listed there.

Raise Your Prices!

Ok, after that spot of fun in my last post (life’s too short to be serious), I guess it’s time to write about things a bit more ahem… serious.
.
Like money stuff.

Anyway, I learned a tip from a marketer, Sean D’Souza, about raising prices for your products. He shared that most businesses are terrified of raising their prices because they’re afraid that it’s going to scare away customers and all that stuff.

And when these businesses reach a point where they must raise their prices (or go bust), they’re so horrified about doing it that they raise their prices quietly, hoping that their customers don’t notice (right…).

Well, Sean offers a way to flip your perspective round. Read more »

Global Business

You know how they say that for the first time in history, any ordinary person can just simply start an online business and practically market to the WHOLE world.

So that piqued my interest a little bit.

I knew that the majority of my subscribers and customers come from Singapore and the USA. And I was wondering where the rest of the rest came from…

So I did a check and this is what popped out: Read more »

Making Over US$2,300.00 In A Few Days

So to follow up on my previous post.

I ran an experiment on my list weeks back, where I conducted a survey asking them what were they interested to learn the most from us. And the No.1 result I got was ‘How To Make A Full-Time Income Online’.

So knowing that was the thing that interest my list the most, I decided to do the most common sense thing I could do, I gave them what they wanted. So because we don’t have any Internet marketing products of our own, I had to go hunting for a really good affiliate product that I could honestly recommend to the list.

And so after some scurrying around on the net, I decided to settle on Ewen Chia’s “Newbie Cash Machine” (yes.. it’s an affiliate link).

Ask Your List What They Want!

Omigod! This is such plain “common” sense, but then I never did this till now.

The best way to create a great relationship with your list is to simply give them what they want. That’s what good marketing is all about, isn’t it? Giving people what they want. Period.

And how do you find out what people want?
