Hiya!
I’m back. Like the title says.
I actually arrived back in SG from Oz Wednesday night, saw Man Utd lose to Milan, had some REAL food in awhile, and I still have jet lag. For god’s sake, I’m now waking up at 8am! Can you imagine!? That’s a bloody miracle!
Anyway, the Gold Coast was a really great trip for me. If you don’t already know, i went there for a Tony Robbins seminar – Date With Destiny. Awesome event! Really, really good and I had loads of fun attending it. I went go on to describe the whole thing full bore here, but if you want to have an idea of what we did in those 6 days (!), you can view a video here:
Date With Destiny 2007 Gold Coast
OK! I know it’s been more than 2 full weeks since I blogged about anything, so hope you haven’t abandoned me. But you know what? I learned something while I was on holiday. I had to learn to let go of things while I was there.
You see, I didn’t have an internet connection over there and the only way I could get online was to find an internet cafe or station somewhere (and pay high prices for it.) Because of that, I couldn’t plug myself into the net 24/7, like I normally do when I’m back home.
At first, the thought of not being able to hook up whenever I wanted was a little itchy (I’m addicted to email…) but as I just enjoyed my holiday and the new sights and sounds, i learnt to let go of stuff.
I didn’t NEED to be at the computer all day, I didn’t NEED to attend to all the work I had to do, I didn’t NEED to let my work own me or my time. And the best part was, I was still making money online while I was having my holiday.
So I realised that even as much I enjoy my internet work tremendously, I had to allow myself to just let go once in awhile and also focus on other important things in life, like (girlfriends) and to just ‘enjoy the moment.’
Anyway, I’ll be back to blogging again, just to let off my thoughts and some steam (it’s sooooo therapeutic), but not everyday. I found myself not enjoying myself when I had to churn a blog post every single day. And so I’m not going to. I prefer my work when it’s enjoyable and fun.
